Drum
stands are usually made of metal with a chrome finish and are designed
to support snares, toms, and/or bongos in any setting. Snare stands
are made with three-pronged support arms that end in rubber grips.
The feet of the stands are also rubber gripped to ensure the stand
doesn’t slip while it’s being beaten on.
Some drum stands are made to be lightweight with single braced legs.
Others are designed to take a little abuse, with double bracing. They
are usually all chrome finished.
Drum stands and racks are also made to support tom-toms and bongo
drums. Toms are generally rack mounted. You can also find entire sets
of shell-less, mounted, tunable floor toms all on the same stand.
