Black
drum sets are interesting because they speak volumes about what kind
of a drummer you are. Likewise, the other colors of drums are able
to do the same kinds of things. Take for example some of the following:
• Black drum sets ? Black drum sets are good kinds of drums
for the hard core rockers to get. These are the kinds of sets that
tell people that you are not the kind of person who messes around
when it comes to playing the drums. Those with these kinds of drum
sets are usually very aggressive drummers who let their emotions show.
Their emotions are also heard through the speed and rhythm at which
they play the drums. Drummers in heavy metal bands would be well suited
to play black drums.
• White drum sets ? These drum sets are on the opposite end
of the spectrum of those who have black drum sets. These drummers
are more methodical and persistent in the way they play. These drummers
often are depended on to be able to provide a good solid beat that
others in the band can count on to be deliberate and well-structured.
This does not mean that these drummers have no freedom, but what it
does mean is that there is not likely to be much straying from the
core beat from the drummers who play on these white sets.
• Multicolored drum sets ? These drum sets are interesting
because those who play them are usually unpredictable and are not
the type of musician that you can really categorize. Often those bands
who do not like to categorize themselves in one particular genre will
use these multicolored drum sets for their own drummer. If the song
and tempo needs to be picked up a bit, the drummer can channel the
part of his drum set that is like black drum sets. If he needs to
go in a different direction, he can channel another part of his expertise.
The color of your drums may not change how you drum, but to those
who are watching and listening to you, the fact that you may have
black drum sets or other drum sets could change the persona that others
see you as.
